7 Must-Have Tower Garden Accessories to Make Growing Even Easier!

The Tower Garden comes with everything you need to get growing—just start your seeds, and boom, you’re on your way to fresh, homegrown produce. But let’s be honest… who doesn’t love a good hack to make life even easier? That’s why I’m always on the lookout for little extras that can take Tower Gardening to the next level. And guess what? These must-have accessories will do just that!

1. Inline Filter 💧 – Give Your Plants the VIP Treatment

If you’re using city water, listen up—this is a game changer. The first accessory we always recommend is a filter to remove chlorine or chloramine before filling your reservoir.

Why does this matter? Well, chlorine and chloramine aren’t exactly plant-friendly. Chlorine dissipates after about 24-48 hours, but chloramine sticks around like an annoying guest that won’t leave. Too much of either can cause wilting, especially during the hot summer months. Yikes.

Many cities are switching to chloramine these days, so check your local water report or call your city to confirm what’s in your tap water. Trust me, your plants will thank you!

2. Black Light 🔦 – Hornworm Hunter Extraordinaire

Have you ever had a run-in with those sneaky tomato hornworms? Those fat, green caterpillars can turn your gorgeous tomato plant into a skeleton overnight. 😳

The best way to catch them? A black light! Seriously. Grab a black light flashlight and head out at night—those little rascals will glow in the dark like tiny green neon signs. Problem solved.

3. Pump Dispensers 🚰 – No More Heavy Lifting

Gallon jugs of mineral solution can be awkward to pour. (Raise your hand if you’ve ever spilled some and made a mess. 🙋‍♀️)

The fix? Pump dispensers! Just pop them onto your gallon jugs and pump the perfect amount into your measuring cup every time. Easy peasy.

4. Cloning Collars 🌱 – Fill Those Empty Ports

While I haven’t personally used cloning collars in my 15+ years of Tower Gardening, I know some of you love them! These handy little guys cover empty growing ports, keeping things neat and tidy while you wait to plant something new.

5. Bird Net 🦜 – Protect Your Tomatoes!

Nothing’s more frustrating than going to pick a perfectly ripe tomato… only to find out a bird beat you to it. 😤

A simple bird net is a lifesaver! I only needed it for a few weeks—once the birds realized they weren’t getting a free snack, they moved on, and I stored the net for next time.
