Comparing Tower Garden Extension Kits: Which One Is Right for You? 🌿

Your Tower Garden is already an amazing growing machine—but what if you could grow even MORE? That’s where extension kits come in! Whether you want to boost your harvest, make room for baby greens, or go all-in with maximum capacity, there’s a kit that fits your needs. Let’s compare the three Tower Garden extension options so you can decide which is best for your garden dreams.

1. Tower Garden Extension Kit 🌱

The standard Extension Kit is the most popular choice for growers who want to increase their tower’s capacity by 8 additional ports.

  • Adds two regular grow pots (4 ports each = 8 total).
  • Perfect for growing more fruits, veggies, and herbs.
  • Great for families or anyone who wants to harvest more at once—without adding another Tower Garden.
  • Works with both Tower Garden FLEX and Tower Garden HOME.
  • Includes 8 rockwool cubes, 8 net pots and 2 extension support rods.

👉 Think of this as the “step-up” kit—simple, effective, and lets you grow more of what you love.

Love fresh salads and tender greens? The Baby Green Extension Kit is designed to give you maximum space for growing leafy greens and small herbs.

  • Adds four baby green grow pots (8 ports each).
  • That’s a total of 32 additional planting ports—all dedicated to baby greens and small herbs.
  • Perfect for growing baby lettuce, arugula, spinach, cilantro, chives, parsley, strawberries, onions and more.
  • Great for growers who want to harvest an abundance of baby greens and herbs—without adding another Tower Garden.
  • Works with both Tower Garden FLEX and Tower Garden HOME.
  • Includes 2 extension support rods.

👉 This is the “salad lover’s dream” kit—if your goal is endless harvests of fresh, cut-and-come-again greens and flavorful herbs, this is the one for you.

3. Tower Garden Combo Extension Kit 🌿

The Extension Kit Combo is for growers who want the best of both worlds—room for large crops AND tender baby greens or small herbs.

  • Adds one regular grow pot (4 ports) plus two baby green grow pots (8 ports each).
  • That’s a total of 20 additional planting ports (4 regular + 16 baby greens/small herbs).
  • Ideal for anyone who wants to grow a mix of crops and baby greens/herbs—without adding another Tower Garden.
  • Works with both Tower Garden FLEX and Tower Garden HOME.
  • Includes 21 rockwool cubes, 4 net pots and 2 extension support rods.

A Note on Extension Kits & Grow Lights 🌿💡

While all Tower Garden Extension Kits fit on both the HOME and the FLEX, we generally recommend adding them to the FLEX only. The HOME model has a smaller, narrower base, and adding too much height can make it unstable—especially if it’s placed outside on a windy day.

When it comes to grow lights, keep in mind they can be used with one extension, but that’s right on the limit. For best results, grow lights are designed to fit perfectly on a FLEX or a HOME without extensions. This ensures even coverage and stability while keeping your crops thriving indoors.

Which Extension Kit Should You Choose? 🤔

Extension Kit → If you just want a little more space for your favorite crops.

Baby Green Extension Kit → If you love salads and want maximum baby greens and small herbs.

Extension Kit Combo → If you want a mix of full-size crops and baby greens/herbs for variety.

No matter which you choose, all extension kits are easy to install and designed to keep your Tower Garden growing strong.

Frequently asked questions
  • Can I use extension kits and grow lights with my Tower Garden HOME?

While extension kits technically fit both the HOME and the FLEX, we recommend using them on the FLEX. The HOME has a smaller base and can become unstable if too tall, especially outdoors in the wind. Grow lights can fit with one extension, but it’s right on the limit—grow lights perform best on a FLEX or a HOME without extensions.
