Dark Green Zucchini is a vigorous and early-producing summer squash that grows on compact bush-type plants. The smooth, straight fruits have a deep green color with tender flesh that is firm, mild, and delicious.
Zucchini can be harvested at a variety of sizes, but they are especially tender and flavorful when picked at 6–8 inches long. At this stage they are perfect for steaming, sautéing, stir-frying, or adding fresh to summer dishes.
Like most summer squash, the fruits can grow quickly during peak season, so regular harvesting is recommended. Even larger zucchini remain great for cooking and are excellent sliced or quartered and grilled with olive oil, salt, and pepper for an easy summer side dish. 🌱
