Greens - Kale, Dwarf Blue Curled Scotch Seeds

Dwarf Blue Curled Scotch kale produces beautifully finely curled, bluish-green leaves with a mild, classic kale flavor. The compact plants grow 12–15 inches tall with a spread of about 24–30 inches, making them well suited for small gardens and continuous harvesting.

This hardy variety holds well in the garden and provides a long harvest window, producing nutritious leaves for cooking, salads, smoothies, and sautés. Regular harvesting encourages continued growth throughout the season.

Originally developed by the Virginia Truck Experiment Station, this variety was introduced in 1950 as ‘Vates Dwarf Blue Curled Scotch’, a stabilized selection from Dwarf Green Curled kale. It remains a reliable and productive kale for home gardens. 🌿

Each packet contains one gram, which is approximately 250 seeds.

When established, it will tolerate frost. Can be grown outside as soon as danger of hard frost is passed.

Provides a continuous supply of tasty leaves if you pick from the bottom up. It is cold hardy and the flavors become sweeter and more complex after a hard frost.

Plant 1-2 seeds per rockwool cube.
