    Description

Lacinato kale is a classic Italian heirloom also known as Dinosaur Kale, Tuscan Kale, Nero di Toscana, or Black Palm Kale. This traditional variety produces long, narrow leaves that are deep bluish-green with a heavily textured, savoyed surface.

Plants typically grow 2–3 feet tall and produce a steady supply of leaves when harvested regularly from the bottom of the plant upward. The leaves have a rich, earthy flavor that becomes sweeter and more complex after exposure to frost, making it a favorite for cool-season growing.

Lacinato kale has been grown in the Tuscany region of Italy since at least the 18th century and remains one of the most popular kale varieties for soups, sautés, and traditional Italian dishes. 🌿
